Toastmasters Contest Season

It is contest time again!!!
 
The contests are very special and coveted because the winner of the International Speech Contest from our Division will represent the Division in the District contests - OVATIONS 2009 to be held in Colombo, Srilanka in May....
 
And that is not all.... for the first time the winner of the District 82 will go on to the International Speech Contest at Connecticut, USA...
 
The first two winners of the club contest will represent the club in the area contest, which will be held in Chennai and the first two winners of the Area (G2) will represent the area in the Division contest to be held in Chennai in the last week of March 2009.  One winner from the Division will represent the Division at the District contest in Colombo.
 
To give you an idea about the competition at the AREA level., the clubs in our area are:
 
  • Chennai Toastmasters Club
  • Wordsmiths
  • HCL Expressions
  • Caterpillar
  • Chakde Satyam Toastmasters Club
 
So who can contest:
 
INTERNATIONAL SPEECH CONTEST:
 
1. Should have completed Project 6 from the CC manual.
2. Should have paid all club dues in terms of membership, and be a member of good standing.
 
TABLE TOPICS CONTEST
Should have paid all club dues in terms of membership and be a member of good standing.
 
There is a limit of nine members who can contest in both these contests individually.  And the contestants will be given preference on FIRST COME FIRST SERVED basis provided they fulfill the basic requirements.
 
The last date for giving your names is February 10, 2009.
 
Hurry Up!!! And send in your names to me to avoid disappointment....remember... u have to complete six projects before the contest to be eligible to contest for the International Speech Contest.  There is no restriction in terms of the Table Topics Contest with respect to Project completion...
 
Start preparing and let us make sure that the member to represent District 82 at Connecticut is from CHENNAI TOASTMASTERS.
